They have a huge selection of loose leaf teas to choose from. My personal favorite is the Earl Grey but honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of their offerings. The tea always comes piping hot.

Now for the main event – the cakes! Whether you want something savory or sweet, they have you covered. Their mille-feuille is to die for. The cream is so velvety thick.

My friend and I ducked into Crêperie Jacqueline one rainy day hoping for a quick lunch, expecting your typical crepe shop. But what we discovered instead has made us return customers for life!

From the moment we walked in soaked, the staff greeted us with the warmest welcome. Their kindness instantly put us at ease. Then the food – wow, what an unveiling of flavor and creativity beyond anything we imagined crepes could offer. Each bite was full of new discoveries.

We ended up staying for hours, trying menu items both savory and sweet. Needless to say we made reservations for dinner then brunch, and each meal continued to impress and exceed our high expectations.

Crêperie Jacqueline is a rare find – don’t just stop by, make reservations to truly experience their magic! Easily one of the best culinary surprises we’ve had. Thank goodness for that rainy day detour.

My husband and I dined at Les Fortes Tetes Bistro on a quiet Sunday night and were warmly tended to by our charming server. Her excellent English skills made ordering seamlessly easy. She took the time to learn our wine preferences and delivered a bottle that was a perfect match. Kudos to her knowledgeable recommendations.

For starters, the plate my husband chose was flavorful and satisfying. When it came time for our mains, a steak and burger arrived cooked precisely as requested – tender and tasty. The sides of crispy fries were a hit too. Throughout our meal, our server saw to our every need attentively yet unobtrusively. The bistro strikes a nice casual tone.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed both the welcoming service and fresh, high quality menu items. Les Fortes Tetes Bistro delivers a memorable, stress-free dining experience. We will be returning on our next visit!

5. Mama Restaurant Toulouse

As someone staying at the Hotel National, I was pleasantly surprised by the cool yet cozy atmosphere of the on-site brasserie. Rather than feeling like a impersonal hotel dining room, it exuded neighborhood bistro charm. The service from staff was friendly and efficient. An inviting menu had something to please all, with a nice selection of wines by the glass too.

On weekends, live DJs play tunes just lively enough without being overpowering. But the real treat is Sunday brunch – not a buffet but made-to-order plates that are drool-worthy. After dinner, guests gather around the table football table for entertainment and friendly competition. A nice amenity adding to the laidback vibe.

Overall the Hotel National Brasserie succeeds in feeling more like a local hangout than hotel restaurant. Definitely worth visiting even if you’re not staying on premises. Great ambiance and food in a casual setting.

6. La Fiancée

This charming bistro is a fabulous gem for Sunday brunch in central Toulouse. Finding parking can be tricky, so I’d suggest walking from spots like Esquirol or Capitole metro stations (around 10 minutes away).

The staff here are true professionals – so friendly, helpful and cheerful, keeping countless happy diners smiling from open to close. Not an easy job well done, but they make it look effortless.

As for the cuisine, the chef is an absolute wizard. His artfully presented dishes sing with vibrant flavors, and he has an uncanny knack for pairing complements.

My avocado toast with cream cheese and berries was absolute heaven. Salads and fresh fruits were also delightful. The menu caters to every taste from carnivores to herbivores.

But nothing prepared me for the banana bread – sweet mother of pearls, this man bakes a mean loaf. Fluffy crumb, ripe banana flavor, just the right crunch – I’m getting misty eyed just remembering it! From the charming ambiance to the culinary treasures, Georges Brasserie gets a 10/10. A must for a memorable brunch in a lively part of town. Bravo!

7. Flower’s cafe

Looking for a pleasant spot for afternoon tea, we stumbled upon Café de la Fontaine. What a lovely find! Situated on a plaza with a charming fountain view, their outdoor terrace is ideal for people-watching on a nice day. We enjoyed our drinks and snacks al fresco.

The staff were friendly and their pastry selection did not disappoint. Quality teas and reasonable prices too. From fruit tarts to chocolate treats, there was something for every taste. Freshly made sandwiches and quiches also hit the spot.

With its ideal location and quality offerings, Café de la Fontaine makes for a relaxing break. I’ll be back to try more from their rotating menu items and enjoy the scenic spot again. Recommend for a light meal or pick-me-up.

8. O Bistro 

My friend and I were strolling through the area late one afternoon, in need of a light bite after 2 pm. We stumbled upon little Cafe des Amies and were so glad we stopped in.

Housed in a cozy corner shopfront, the cafe exudes warmth and charm thanks to its two bubbly young owners hard at work. They greeted us with smiles. On offer were simple sandwiches, quiches, and salads – all made with care using quality local ingredients. We selected a tartine each and were delighted.

For such a petite spot, the flavors packed a punch. It hit the spot exactly. Prices were also reasonable. Cafe des Amies feels authentic, and friendly and feels more like stepping into a friend’s kitchen than a commercial place. Highly recommend if you want a pleasant local experience off the main tourist drags. We’ll be back!

After days of wandering city streets, my husband and I were too tired to travel far for dinner. Seeing positive reviews, we decided to try the restaurant at our hotel, Hotel National. We were pleasantly surprised – the ratings did not disappoint. Service was attentive from the start as we studied the menu.

Opting to share dishes, we began with luxurious foie gras that melted in our mouths. Then our server steered us to split their famous cassoulet, the portion indeed generous enough for two.

Even with full bellies, we managed room for dessert. I enjoyed a seasonal pastry while my husband dived into a rich chocolate mousse. Both ended our meal on a sweet note.

Yes, the polished dining room felt fairly “hotel” but the food quality shone through. Great value too thanks to online booking discounts. Even for residents wanting to stay on-site, this is worth a try. Excellent French cuisine without venturing far from the guest rooms!

Seeking a family-friendly dinner spot, we gave Oncle Pom a try based on its central location. From the vintage Americana decor to the attentive service, we were pleased from the start. Their straightforward menu format made choosing easy – appetizer, main (protein + potato bar selections), and dessert for set prices. Something for all tastes.

We sampled options like tender duck burgers, homemade tartares, and perfect comfort foods. Each dish delivered robust yet balanced flavors. The kids especially loved building their own potato bar plates. Mashed, gratin, roasted – the spuds were creamy and dreamy.

Light wine list but fair prices. Overall a very enjoyable, affordable family meal in a casual retro setting. Not fine dining by any means but hit the spot for a fun, no-fuss local experience. Great value for the quality. We’ll return!

From the quaintly mismatched antique furniture to the charming family staff, Maison L’Apothicaire transports you back in time with its old-world charm.

But far more than just aesthetically pleasing – the food alone is worth a trip. From savory crepes and quiches to their pieces of cake, each bite is a revelatory blend of textures and flavors.

Their specialty macarons took my tastebuds on a journey. Light as air yet bursting with intricate flavors, it was love at first bite. No way could I resist bringing boxes of them home!

Everything from pastries to hot drinks is prepared with artisanal care using quality local ingredients. Clean and neat as a pin too. Perched on a lively pedestrian street, this lovely spot is perfect any time of day. Tea service is an absolute must – decadent cakes and perfectsipable blends. Years from now I’ll still remember Maison L’Apothicaire fondly. Delightful ambiance and cuisine worth raving about! Do not miss it during your visit.

12. Yeti D’Himalaya

During my month-long stay in the area, Himalayan Kitchen was my go-to for delicious, authentic meals. Forget the faux-Indian spots – this family-run gem feels like a true taste of Nepal.

Walking in, the welcoming vibe sets the tone along with decor influenced by Nepali artifacts. Melodic Southeast Asian beats complete the immersion.

Time and again I returned for favorites like the fragrant vegetarian kadai-style curries. The mixed yogi tarkari melted in my mouth with each bite. And the naan – fluffy perfection. Grilled fish was another standout, light yet richly flavored. Both vegetables and protein shone through.

You can taste the care and passion in each dish. Prices are fair for the quality. Service is warm yet professional. Highly recommended if you want to experience Nepali cuisine prepared by experts in a soothing neighborhood setting. These flavors will keep me coming back for more down the road!

13. The Danu

What better way to enjoy a Stade Toulousain match than with mates at this lively local pub? From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff welcomed us in. Our bartender was an absolute legend – smoothly taking our food/drink order with a smile despite the bustling crowd. Pints arrived swiftly as did our grub.

Dad relished his cheddar burger, mum found the Kentucky burger satisfying. But I truly loved my generous goat cheese salad – fresher than your standard pub fare. Kudos to The Danu for beyond-decent grub.

All night our bartender superbly kept an eye on us amid the rush, always there when needed yet unobtrusively letting us cheer on the home team in peace.

What a top-notch way to spend a Sunday catching the game with amazing service, tasty drinks and food surrounded by other Rugby die-hards. We’ll be back for sure – whether for more matches or just a night of darts!

14. Sixty-two 

A group of 8 of us stumbled upon Cibo Trattoria on TripAdvisor and took a chance booking the same day due to their small size. We’re so glad we did! Housed in a sleek yet rustic space, the charming staff made us feel at home. But it was the food that truly excelled.

Rotating daily, their concise menus spotlight seasonal ingredients in creative ways. Mushroom ravioli stole the show for starters with luxurious but unphotogenic fillings.

For mains, generous protein portions like tender duck breast and succulent pork chop wowed different diners. Hake tickled tastebuds too. We all opted for meat over fish in the end!

Rich tiramisu topped the night off on a sweet note. The flavors were bright and balanced throughout. Cibo achieves big flavors from a petite menu. Superb quality for the price. We’ll have to return to sample changing offerings. Such a find – don’t hesitate to book!

15. O Delices d’Emilie

After seeing mixed reviews for restaurants in the area, I took a chance visiting Café du Soleil based on its cozy atmosphere. I’m so glad I did – what a delightful little spot!

The friendly staff made me feel at ease. I opted for the dish of the day which did not disappoint with fresh, flavorful ingredients. But the real star was the banoffee pie I couldn’t resist. Light as air yet decadently creamy and sweet – amazing! Whether dining inside its comfortable interior or soaking in street views, the laidback vibe is perfect for lounge or people watching.

Highly recommended if you want a tasty meal enjoyed without stuffy atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for quality received. I’ll be returning for sure!
